Thursday, July 11 at 3:30pm. How does your garden grow? Without bees, maybe not at all. Threatened by pesticides and habitat loss, fewer and fewer bees buzz each year. No bees? No broccoli, asparagus, cantaloupes, cucumbers, pumpkins, blueberries, watermelons, almonds, apples, cranberries, and cherries – or honey! Gerard Raffa, official beekeeper for the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, will talk about these fascinating, essential creatures and what you can do to help.
Registration required.
