Shailah Edmonds, a model during an era when Black women were excluded from elite runways, became a top international couture model in Paris, working with Yves St. Laurent, Givenchy, Dior, Valentino, Versace, Armani, and other designers. Now an actress, author, singer, and modeling coach, Edmonds performs regularly with her jazz band in the New York City area and was recently featured in the New York Times Style section.
