Sunday, January 13 at 1:30pm. As a nation of immigrants, we do not always find it easy to welcome newcomers. From our nation’s first years through today, for every wave of immigrants, whether French, Irish, German, Eastern European, Italian, Asian or Central American, we have opened our arms and turned our backs, often at the same time. Join us for a fascinating exploration of this aspect of our nation’s history and its impact on Long Island with educator and historian Martha Potter.
Registration required. Check with Library to confirm location.
