New York City’s long-standing fascination with alligators in the sewer has been referenced across popular culture from Thomas Pynchon to Sharknado. But there’s actually a bit of historical truth to this tall tale. New York City’s sewer has been — and still could be — home to the occasional alligator. Join Thomas Hynes, author of Wild City: A Brief History of New York in 40 Animals, to learn more about the urban legends of even wilder New York City.
