October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each year, approximately 255,000 women and 2,700 men in the U.S. are diagnosed with breast cancer, and the likelihood of developing breast cancer increases with age. Dr. Edna Kapenhas, who leads the breast surgery and breast surgical oncology program at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, and is the medical director of the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center, will review risk factors, warning signs, and treatment options. Dr. Kapenhas will also answer questions after her lecture.

An East End Libraries Event hosted by Hampton Bays Public Library with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
