Thursday, March 19 at 7:00pm. In the United States, 1 in 17 people will develop colorectal cancer, making it one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers. Each year, approximately 150,000 new cases of colorectal cancer are diagnosed in the United States and 11,000 new cases of colorectal cancer are diagnosed in New York alone. Dr. Ashanti Franklin, Peconic Bay Medical Center’s colorectal surgeon, will discuss all aspects of colorectal cancer and the importance of routine cancer screenings.
