WHB Historical Museum Presents: Historic Schoolhouses of Long Island
Sunday, March 8 at 1:00pm

 

Join author Zachary N. Studenroth to explore Long Island's historic schoolhouses, celebrated for their simple form and distinctive architecture, from pre-Revolutionary buildings to octagonal structures, built in response to an 1812 law. Learn about their association with Walt Whitman and how some have survived.
