Monday, July 16 – Thursday, July 19 from 9:00 – 11:00am at Rogers Beach. Learn about ocean water safety and rescue techniques consistent with New York State Ocean Lifeguard requirements. Westhampton Beach certified lifeguards will provide hands-on instruction and in-water activities geared toward ocean awareness, age-appropriate rescue techniques, team building and friendly competition, culminating in an intrasquad Junior Lifesaving Tournament.
For ages 11-12 and 13-15. Participants should be able to swim 100 yards in 2 minutes, tread water for 3 minutes and swim underwater for 25 yards and will be evaluated on the first day.
Registration is $55.00 (payable to the Village of Westhampton Beach) and includes t-shirt and tournament day. Register at Rogers Beach, calling (631) 288-1654, or by calling the Beach Manager at (631) 288-6306.
